Dr. Matthew A. Waller
Dean, Sam M. Walton College of Business
Dr. Matt Waller is the dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, and currently holds the Sam M. Walton Leadership Chair. Prior to being at the U of A, Waller received a B.S.B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Missouri, and a M.S. and Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. Waller co-founded Bentonville Associates Ventures in 1996 and was chief strategy officer and co-founder of Mecari Technologies from 1998-2002. He was the former co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Business Logistics. His academic journal articles have been cited more than 9,000 times and his opinion pieces have appeared in Wall Street Journal Asia and Financial Times.
Dr. Waller is also a podcast host, author and inventor. He is the patent holder on System, Method and Article of Manufacture to Optimize Inventory and Merchandising Shelf Space Utilization. Published works include coauthoring “The Definitive Guide to Inventory Management: Principles and Strategies for the Efficient Flow of Inventory across the Supply Chain” published by Pearson Education; “Integrating Blockchain into Supply Chain Management: A Toolkit for Practical Implementation” published by Kogan Page; and “Purple on the Inside: How J.B. Hunt Transport Set Itself Apart in a Field Full of Brown Cows” published by Epic Books.
